“Allow Young Girls To Have Fun And Wear Short Skirts” — Mzbel Speaks on ‘16 Years’ Concept

Ghanaian singer Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah popularly known as Mzbel has opened up about the inspiration behind her “16 Years” video, emphasizing the importance of self-expression and confidence among young girls.

Speaking during Fan Mix Live at WatsUp TV headquarters, the veteran artiste explained that the concept of the video was intentionally designed to reflect freedom, fun, and youthful confidence. According to her, young girls should be allowed to enjoy their age and express themselves through their fashion choices without unnecessary judgment.

Mzbel noted that the inclusion of short skirts in the video was not meant to spark controversy but to normalize confidence and body positivity among young women. She stressed that growing up should be a phase where young girls feel free to explore their identity in a safe and expressive way.

“Allow young girls to have fun and wear short skirts,” she stated, reinforcing her stance on personal freedom and self-confidence.

The singer’s comments have since stirred conversations online, with some supporting her message of empowerment and others raising concerns about societal standards and influence on the youth.
