My son told me, I deserve a husband, not a baby daddy - Tiwa Savage

Nigerian Afrobeats star Tiwatope Omolara Savage known professionally as Tiwa Savage has revealed a heartfelt and slightly humorous conversation she had with her son, Jamil Balogun, about her love life.

According to reports, the moment happened during a casual discussion with a friend while she was showing photos of British rapper Skepta and actor Aaron Pierre. When her son noticed, he asked what she was doing. She jokingly replied that she was showing her “baby daddy.”

Jamil quickly corrected her, saying, she should not have a “baby daddy” but instead “deserves a husband.”

The singer said she was surprised by his response but found it touching and mature.

Jamil is Tiwa Savage’s only child from her previous marriage to Tunji “TeeBillz” Balogun.

The couple separated in 2016 but continue to co-parent their son.

Tiwa Savage admitted that dating as a single mother is more complicated now, especially as her son is growing older and more aware.
