Let Love Lead NGO, Metro TV Partner for 4th Massive Clean-Up Exercise in Accra
Let Love Lead NGO, in partnership with Metro TV, a subsidiary of Ignite Media Group, will hold the 4th edition of its annual large-scale clean-up on June 6, 2026, from the Nima-Mamobi gutter stretch to Paloma in Accra.
The initiative, led by Let Love Lead NGO, aims to unite the public, corporate organizations, celebrities, politicians, and well-meaning Ghanaians to promote environmental cleanliness and educate communities on proper sanitation practices.
As part of preparations for the event, members of Let Love Lead NGO, led by Dawood Akwasi Agyemang aka Big Dawood, paid a courtesy call on the Managing Director of Ignite Media Group, Von Clause Bacustein, to discuss collaboration and strengthen media support for the initiative.
The delegation included retired Chief Superintendent of Police, Elvis Bawa Sadongo, and WO1 Otchere Nana Daniel.
The clean-up is organized to mark the June 3 disaster that occurred 11 years ago at Circle — one of Ghana’s deadliest flood and fire-related tragedies. Organizers say the initiative serves as a reminder of the importance of environmental cleanliness and proper drainage maintenance to help prevent a similar incident.
Speaking ahead of the event, Big Dawood emphasized the need for collective responsibility in addressing poor sanitation and flooding in Accra.
He stated that beyond cleaning gutters and surrounding areas, the event will also focus on public education, community awareness, and encouraging responsible waste disposal.
The exercise is expected to draw hundreds of volunteers, corporate partners, celebrities, politicians, and residents who share the vision of building a cleaner, safer, and healthier Ghana.
Additionally, WatsUp TV has joined the initiative as an official media partner to support publicity, community engagement, and nationwide awareness ahead of the clean-up exercise.
The partnership is expected to amplify the campaign’s message on environmental cleanliness, sanitation, and collective responsibility through extensive media coverage and digital promotion.
