Ama Burland Defends Sarkodie and Stonebwoy Amid Social Media Clash
Ghanaian social media personality Ama Burland has defended Sarkodie and Stonebwoy following their recent back-and-forth on X, arguing that the disagreement will not destroy Ghana’s music industry.
Her comments came after an X user, identified as Sherif, criticised the two award-winning musicians for publicly airing their differences instead of handling the matter privately.
The user expressed concern about the state of the entertainment industry and urged the veteran artistes to set their personal differences aside and find a way to resolve their issues.
However, Ama Burland disagreed with the criticism, saying Sarkodie and Stonebwoy have maintained their composure for a long time and should be allowed to express their emotions.
According to her, artistes are human beings and, just like anyone else, can sometimes reach a point where they need to speak openly about how they feel.
She further argued that public disagreements between major artistes are not unusual in the global music industry and do not automatically mean the industry is falling apart.
Ama Burland cited international music stars including Davido and Wizkid, Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, as well as Drake and Kendrick Lamar, whose well-known conflicts have not brought an end to their respective music industries.
She maintained that Sarkodie and Stonebwoy should be given room to express themselves rather than being pressured to remain silent in the name of maturity.
Ama Burland also suggested that if the two artistes had spoken openly about their concerns earlier, the current situation might have been avoided.
A strong supporter of Sarkodie, Ama Burland has also shown appreciation for Stonebwoy and his music on several occasions.
Her comments come amid the ongoing exchange between the two Ghanaian music heavyweights on X, which has attracted significant attention from fans and other personalities within the entertainment industry.
