Man United Target Salinas After Hall Snub As Arsenal Eye Romero Move
Manchester United have shifted their attention to a new defensive target after running into problems in their pursuit of Lewis Hall. The Red Devils had identified the 21-year-old as the solution to their problem position, but Newcastle United are reluctant to let him go.
According to Sport, United have now made Salinas their Plan B. The 19-year-old is on their radar, but they face stiff competition. Premier League rivals will have to battle Barcelona for the teenager’s signature this summer.
In other transfer news, Arsenal are reportedly monitoring Cristian Romero. The Athletic claims the Gunners are interested in bringing the Tottenham Hotspur centre-back across North London.
However, a deal looks complicated. Spurs are expected to sell Romero this summer, but selling to a direct London rival is seen as difficult. The club would reportedly prefer an overseas buyer.
Romero is also attracting interest from abroad. Both Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid have been linked with the Argentina defender, which could make the race for his signature even tougher for Arsenal.
