Davido Says He Doesn’t Want His Children to Go Into Music

Nigerian superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that he does not want any of his children to pursue a career in music.

Speaking on a recent episode of _The Vibe_ podcast, the father of six said his decision is based on his personal experiences in the industry. According to him, the challenges he has faced as a musician make him wary of encouraging his kids to follow the same path.

Davido admitted that his second daughter, Hailey Veronica Adeleke, is already showing interest in music. He described her as “the life of the party” who behaves just like him and even has a good voice. Despite that, he remains hesitant about supporting her fully.

“I don’t want any of my children to pursue music. My second daughter is already leaning towards music. She is the life of the party. She behaves just like me. She actually has a good voice. But I know what I went through. Can you go through what I go through? Knowing what I have been through, I’m skeptical about encouraging any of my children to do music,” he said.[Hailey]

However, the singer noted that he would not force his children to abandon their dreams. He recalled how his own parents and family allowed him to chase music despite the odds, and he intends to do the same for his children.

“But because my parents and my family eventually allowed me chase my dreams, I would never want to block any of my children from chasing their dreams. And if they are good, why not?” he added.
